Frequently asked questions
Why is my scanned PDF so large?
Scanners save each page as a full-resolution image, so a few dozen pages easily run to tens or hundreds of megabytes. JuriShrink re-encodes those page images at a sensible resolution and quality to force the file under your size cap.
Will compression break the QR code or digital signature?
The engine has a barcode safety net: before adopting a re-encoded image it checks that every QR code and barcode that decoded in the original still decodes, and keeps the original if not. Compression rewrites page images only; a PDF digital signature is invalidated by any content change, so sign after compressing.
Is my file safe?
Files are processed on our server and deleted automatically within 2 hours. We never store file contents — only anonymous usage metadata (size before and after, outcome, country) to run the service.
What if it still does not fit?
When a single compressed file still exceeds your cap, JuriShrink splits it into sequential, clearly numbered part files that each fit, plus a Download all (ZIP).
