Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you create an account we collect your name, email, phone number, firm name, billing address, and a hashed password. We never store plain-text passwords.

When you use LexLingo we record the translation job details (timestamp, language pair, word count) for billing. The source document is never written to disk; it is held in memory during processing and discarded immediately after.

We also collect standard server logs: IP address, pages visited, response times, and errors. These are kept for 90 days.

How your documents are processed

When you upload a document to LexLingo:

• It is sent to a cloud OCR provider to extract the text. The provider does not retain document content after the API call.
• The extracted text is sent to our AI translation provider for translation. They do not use your content to train their models.
• Translated output files (PDF, DOCX, text) are kept on our server for 24 hours after translation completes, so you can re-download them from the My Downloads page. They are permanently deleted after that window.
• A job record (word count, languages, timestamp) is kept for 2 years for billing and audit, then deleted.
• When you use JuriShrink (our free PDF compressor), your PDF is processed on our server to reduce its size and is deleted automatically within 2 hours. We never store the file's contents; we keep only anonymous usage metadata (size before and after, outcome, country) to run and improve the service.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers below, strictly to operate our platform. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

• Razorpay — payment processing. We do not store card numbers or CVV codes. Their privacy policy →
• Cloud OCR provider — optical character recognition for uploaded documents.
• AI translation provider — translation of extracted text.
• Cloudflare — spam protection on our contact and registration forms.
• Umami — cookie-free, anonymous website analytics. No personal data is collected.

We may also disclose data if required by Indian law or a valid court order.

Cookies

We set one session cookie when you sign in. It is HttpOnly, Secure, and expires after 8 hours. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Email us at [email protected] with the subject "Data Rights Request" and we will respond within 30 days.

You can update your name, phone, and address directly from your account profile without contacting us.

Our services are for adults only. If you believe we have accidentally collected data from a child under 18, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.
